Where Delhi fancy numbers are listed

Delhi (DL) is one of the few Indian states that does not use the central Parivahan portal for fancy number reservations. Delhi runs its own Fancy / Choice Registration Mark booking flow on the Delhi Transport Department site — separate from fancy.parivahan.gov.in.

Shortlist your number on myfancynumber.com

Before opening the Delhi Transport Department, narrow down which 4-digit numbers you actually want. Our Delhi page shows today's available pool RTO by RTO, with three ways to filter:

  • By your date of birth — Vedic numerology (Cheiro's Indian vehicle method) computes your Mūlāṅka (psychic number) and Bhāgyāṅka (destiny number), then surfaces plates whose digit-sum lands on a friend planet of both, and warns off plates with enemy digits clustered visibly. See the Vedic numerology guide for how it works.
  • By your name — Pythagorean reduction to a single digit; numbers in the pool whose digits sum to the same value.
  • By a specific 4-digit number — type 9999, 0001, 7777, your birthday, anything; see which Delhi RTOs have it open right now.

Step-by-step reservation

Step 1: Open the Delhi booking page

Go directly to Booking of Fancy or Choice Registration Mark (Delhi). This is the Delhi Transport Department's own flow — separate from the central Parivahan portal.

Step 2: Pick the registration mark you want

The page lists available "choice" or "fancy" 4-digit registration marks for Delhi RTOs, with the fee tier on each row. Premium numbers (single digits, repeaters like 9999/7777, palindromes like 1221) carry the highest fee; common numbers go at the base rate.

Step 3: Submit applicant + vehicle details

You'll need engine and chassis numbers from your dealer invoice, plus owner name and address matching your ID proof. Double-check both numbers before submitting.

Step 4: Pay the reservation fee

The portal redirects to a payment gateway — UPI, card, or net banking. Save the receipt; you'll need it at the Delhi RTO when you complete vehicle registration.

Step 5: Complete vehicle registration

Visit the Delhi RTO within the validity window stated on your reservation receipt to link the reserved number to your vehicle and collect the permanent registration certificate.

Delhi reservation fees

Fees in Delhi are set by the state Transport Department and vary by number category. Premium 4-digit numbers — single-digit sequences (0001, 0009), repeaters (9999, 7777), palindromes (1221), and other auspicious patterns — sit at the highest fee tier; common numbers go at the base rate.

Rather than reprinting a fee table that may go stale, we show the exact rupee fee for each available number directly on each Delhi RTO page — sourced from the same official listing that powers the booking flow.

After you've reserved

The reservation is valid for a fixed window stated on your receipt. Complete the vehicle's permanent registration at the same Delhi RTO before that date. Bring:

  • The reservation receipt (printed or on phone)
  • Vehicle invoice and temporary registration certificate
  • Address proof and photo ID
  • Insurance certificate and PUC certificate

Frequently asked questions

Are Delhi fancy numbers booked online or only at the RTO?

Delhi runs its own fancy/choice-number booking on the Delhi Transport Department portal — separate from the central Parivahan flow. The booking page is online; the final vehicle registration still happens in person at the Delhi RTO.

How much does a fancy number cost in Delhi?

Fees are set by the Delhi state Transport Department and depend on the number's category. Premium numbers — single digits like 1, 9; repeating patterns like 9999, 7777; palindromes like 1221 — carry the highest fee. Common 4-digit numbers go at the base reservation rate. The exact rupee amounts are listed on the official portal at the time of booking; we surface them on each Delhi RTO page as well once the number is shortlisted.

Can I reserve a Delhi fancy number if I'm registered in another state?

Generally no. Fancy number reservations are tied to the vehicle's registration RTO, which is determined by your residential address. If you're moving to Delhi and registering the vehicle there for the first time, you can reserve under a Delhi RTO; if your vehicle is already registered in another state, you'd need to re-register the vehicle in Delhi before applying for a Delhi fancy number.

How long is a Delhi fancy number reservation valid?

Validity varies by state but is typically a few weeks to a couple of months — long enough to complete the vehicle's permanent registration but short enough to prevent indefinite hoarding. The exact validity date is on the reservation receipt; missing it forfeits the fee and returns the number to the public pool.
