Step-by-step reservation

Step 1: Open the Parivahan portal

Go to fancy.parivahan.gov.in. No login required to browse — you'll need to sign in only at the reservation step.

Step 2: Pick Bihar from the state dropdown

The state dropdown at the top of the page lists every state on Parivahan. Select Bihar.

Step 3: Pick your Bihar RTO

After selecting Bihar, an RTO dropdown appears. Pick the office that will handle your vehicle's permanent registration — usually the RTO closest to your residential address. Each RTO maintains its own pool, so two different Bihar RTOs may currently have different numbers available.

Step 4: Browse today's available numbers

The portal shows available series and individual 4-digit numbers, each with the Bihar reservation fee. Filter by series, or search for a specific 4-digit number you've already shortlisted on our Bihar page.

Step 5: Click "Reserve" and sign in

Clicking Reserve prompts a Parivahan or Aadhaar e-KYC sign-in. Aadhaar e-KYC is usually faster if your phone is Aadhaar-linked. The selected number is held in your cart while you finish the rest of the flow — the clock starts here.

Step 6: Enter vehicle and applicant details

You'll need engine number and chassis number from your dealer invoice, plus the owner name and address as they appear on Aadhaar. Double-check both numbers before proceeding.

Step 7: Pay the Bihar reservation fee

UPI, cards, and net banking all work. After successful payment, save the transaction receipt — you'll need it at the Bihar RTO when you complete vehicle registration.

After you've reserved

The reservation is valid for a fixed window stated on your receipt. Complete the vehicle's permanent registration at the same Bihar RTO before that date. Bring:

• Vehicle invoice and temporary registration certificate

• Insurance certificate and PUC certificate
